Tautog
The Tautog class corvette is a stop-gap antiship platform converted from a common free-trader hull known as the Sojourner, though Tautogs from the Tambor (AMC-069) on are all purpose built corvettes from the keel up rather than conversions of existing Sojourners.  The conversion of the cargo bay to a weapons bay holding eight R-45 Lancer light antiship missiles plus beam armament and appliqué armor for the hull has created an inexpensive yet very effective warship against the Dhaoghissi.  The Tautog has managed to drive off several attempted raids on human colonies in Sagittarius with a full missile barrage.  Though only one quarter to one half of the weapons’ x-ray laser beams manage to penetrate Dhaoghissi point defense systems and screens, even two R-45 warheads are enough to gut an Alfa, and a squadron of Tautogs suddenly becomes a one for one match against an equal number of the larger Dhaoghissi raiders.

If the Tautog has any shortcomings as a warship converted from a civilian hull, it is its spin gravity habitat, which is only just large enough to accommodate the crew, and only maintains 0.33 G of artificial gravity to maintain health.  Larger diameter spin habs are rare on commercial vessels because they eat up available mass that could be used to turn a profit as cargo volume.
