Pegasus
The Pegasus Class light cruiser is a British Royal Starfleet vessel that generally serves as a frigate squadron leader or for independent operations. The Pegasus is a popular design with its crews, being fast, well-armed, and robust, though like the Oberon class frigate, a significant portion of its long range offensive punch is tied up in R-45 Lancer antiship missiles.  The Lancer is derived from the R-40 Stinger missile found in British salvo missile racks, with an improved guidance and an extended range package.  A single Pegasus was constructed and manned privately and in secret by Joachim Mercer prior to the Mercer family’s migration to Sagittarius, and now serves as the flagship of the A.M.C.  Plans to expand Pegasus production are in the works, but the need for large numbers of warships to cover such a large volume of undefended space has placed the S.D.C.’s manufacturing priority with the Oberon class frigates and Tautog missile corvettes.
