 Oberon Class
The Oberon Class frigate was originally a British Royal Starfleet design that was then exported to or manufactured under license by Japan, the EU, India, and Brazil.  The Oberons found in Sagittarius are all newly-built ships produced from design templates purchased by the Mercer clan and constructed following the attacks by the Dhaoghissi.  Thus far, six Oberons have been built, though another twenty are planned for construction within the next five years.

The Oberon’s role was originally to augment the battle line, providing a screen against fighters, missiles, and other escort class warships.  In Sagittarius, they effectively are the battle line.  Fortunately, they are robust vessels, and are well armed with a variety of weapons, including the R-45 Lancer light antiship missile, which provides their primary offensive punch against warships.
