An otherwise unremarkable rock orbiting a dim red dwarf star in the HM+34 0552 B system, The Alamo came by its name on August 15, 2358 after the inhabitants fought off an organized attack by Aztlan-backed nihilists known as The End of History that had managed to infiltrate the Sagittarius arm in spite of the SDC security apparatus' best efforts.  The nihilists' starship was crippled by industrial drilling lasers from the Prospector class mining vessel Clementine (AMC-116) as it closed with the planetoid to finish the job its missile volley had failed to do.  Only three of the terrorists survived capture to be transfered into the custody of Jan Mercer's ship Enterprise (AMC-003) for trial - the rest ether died during the fight or were "killed while resisting" the miners while detained.
The three survivors refused to testify against their organization, were convicted of piracy in high space by a court convened by the SDC, and were executed by hanging on 29 July 2360 in the city of Capital Main, on the planet Fury, in the HM+53 0102 System, despite protests from the United Nations and the human rights group Amnesty International that they should be turned over to the International Criminal Court for trial and sentencing.  The colony is very proud of its accomplishment, and hope their determination and valor will attract SDC development funds to terraform one of the worlds in-system for their use, but this is doubtful as the worlds here are either far too hot or far too cold to make terraforming reasonable.
