Summary: The HM-45 4415 System is a single star system
composed of a main sequence orange dwarf of spectral type K2. The
star is almost 8 billion years old and is considerably brighter than a
typical K2 dwarf of younger age. The System is populated by Manchurian expatriates from
cis-lunar and Jovian space, including the Kanghua 康
華 colony on Europa. |

Jin Xian 金 銑 is the home of a well-financed colony of Manchurian expatriates looking to escape from their fascist modernist mother country and build new lives in keeping with traditional Chinese and Confucianist ways. The name of the world (Shining Gold) was borrowed from a much earlier time when Chinese immigrants came to California seeking gold. While Jin Xian has abundant mineral wealth, most of the mining takes place on the moon of Jiu Zuan 玖鑽 and the manufacturing of most durable goods happens in autofabs placed in orbit around Jin Xian. Jin Xian is an independent colony seeking no further ties with the SDC or other corporate entitites at this time, preferring to build up a self-sufficient infrastructure in the HM-45 4415 system before reaching out to trade. It is rumored that loyalist Manchurian elements have infiltrated the colony through the guise of a shipbuilding firm owned by Dahan 盛大中国 (Grand China) Corporation of Sagittarius, and have begun manufacturing warships in secret in order to seize control of Sagittarius for the mother country, as well as fomenting unrest against the SDC's firm grip on interstellar infrastructure. Jin Xian is one of the few worlds in Sagittarius that has a functional beanstalk for conveying cargoes to and from the surface to orbit.
Jin Xian 金銑 Commonwealth Autofab Complex
The Jin Xian autofab complex resides at the terminus of the Jin Xian beanstalk. It is an orbital factory complex that is largely automated, receiving raw materials from the outer moons and producing finished goods or components for use on the planet below. The autofab is one of the most sophisticated outside of the control of the SDC or Mercer Heavy Industries, and has a shipyard annex run by Dahan capable of building spacecraft of up to 20,000 tons mass displacement.

Jiu Zuan 玖鑽 (Black Diamond) is where much of the Jin Xian Commonwealth's mining and mineral refinery activity takes place. Life on the moon is very difficult due to the low gravity, which requires that the workers sleep in 'hamster cages,' rotating drums that provide about 0.25 G of spin gravity to mitigate the effects of free fall on the body. Even with the hamster cages and the dietary supplements, after a one year tour on Jiu Zuan the workers must spend an additional three to six weeks of rehabilitation therapy at the Jin Xian orbital autofab complex, which has spin gravity of 0.5 G available, before they can return home to Jin Xian safely.

New Shenyang is home to a sensor station and system defense guard base. It is named after one of Manchuria's most successful colonies in the Orion Arm, though there is little resemblence between the lush garden world of Shenyang and the dry and airless rock that is its namesake.
