System Summary:  The HM+47 2620 System is a binary star system composed of one main sequence yellow dwarf primary of spectral type G9 and a dim orange-red dwarf companion of spectral type K9 with a semi-major axis of 94 AU. The primary 'A' star has two settled worlds, Aurora, with the lion's share of the system's population, and Phrygia, with a handful of wildcat volatiles miners.  The SDC maintains an Interstellar Baseline Interferometry Telescope, Node 'E,' which also functions as a commo station and in-system rescue base for a Salvor class rescue cutter. Aurora is one of the largest colonies in Sagittarius, and is considered in little danger of collapse in the coming years.  The colony is being cultivated for inclusion into the Mercer Compact, and this appears to be a likely outcome, as the colonists have been on friendly terms with the SDC since 2357.

The companion 'B' star has no known worlds, however several cometary bodies from the system Oort cloud interact with it.

Aurora (HM+47 2620 V)

World Overview

Aurora is a garden planet that is just coming out of an ice age period.  Its biosphere is considered Compatible with Earth based life, though what land there is on the world consists largely of steep alpine ranges and deep gorges and valleys sprinkled with glaciers that are still retreating.  Aurora is populated with mostly American and European expatriates, and was named for one of the daughters of Bonaventure (AMC-002) captain Pietro Caravaggio.  Aurora is an independent colony with a fragmented government of local counties centered on its three largest colony towns: Dawn, Ville de L'Aurore, and Lucifer.  Each county is located on a separate continental mass, which has made assigning jurisdiction fairly easy, with Dawn occupying the largest continent, followed by Lucifer on the mostly glaciated continent, and then Ville de L'Aurore on the archipelago.

Aurora is self-sufficient in agricultural production, and manages to export processed foodstuffs in exchange for finished goods.  Aurora's most popular exports are coffee grown in the high and moist mountains, and wine grown from grapes at lower altitudes.  Auroran coffee has been compared favorably with the best South American coffees, and its wines to Chilean and Californian vintages.  The French colony of Ville de L'Aurore is the nexus for wine making on the planet.  The colony's industrial production is limited by the low number of automated fabrication plants, but efforts are being made to purchase additional templates and industrial capacity, provided that enough labor can be obtained to operate the factories and the mines which would supply raw materials.

Aurora Highport

Aurora Highport is a typical Waystation class space station providing once per day shuttle service to the planet's three spaceports.  The SDC owns and operates the space station under a joint service contract with the three principal colonies on Aurora.  Aurora Highport can provide all basic spacecraft services, and counts as Technical Class C and Industrial Class D for availability.

phrygia
Phyrgia (HM+47 2620 A IV)
World Overview

Phrygia is massive iceball, more than four times the size of Earth and 28 times more massive.  A small rocky core is believed to be at the center of the world, sheathed in thick water, methane, and ammonia ices.  The planet has a thin atmosphere of mostly nitrogen and methane sublimated from the ice crust and constantly replenished to make up for losses stripped away by the solar wind.  A small mining outpost exists in orbit around Phrygia with the hope of cheaply exporting the volatiles using atmosphere scoops.  Very little activity takes place on the surface due to the oppressive gravity, though about two dozen Giants are present at any given time studying the ice for potential anchor points for a future planned orbital catapult.

Phrygia Development Corporation Highport

The Phrygia Development Corporation maintains a small 'Can City' type space station in orbit around Phrygia.  This 'highport' serves as the base of operations for the corporation's exploitation of the planet as a source of water and volatiles.  It is hoped that the operation can successfully scoop enough volatiles to ship and sell to the SDC at Aurora Highport at a profit.  The Phrygia Highport offers little in the way of amenities, though it is well stocked with water, oxygen, and hydrogen for use as propellant to ships that make port calls.
