System Summary:  The HM-50 2602 System is a binary star system consisting of one main sequence yellow-white dwarf of spectral type F6 and one main sequence orange dwarf of spectral type K8 orbiting each other around a common center of mass with a an eccentricity of 0.025 and a semi-major axis of 129.4 AU.  The 'A' star system is uninhabited.  The 'B' star system hosts the colony of Angelique, administered by the Terradyne/SDC corporation.

World Overview

The Terradyne/SDC Consortium has a research outpost on HM+50 2602 B II to determine the viability of terraforming the world's atmosphere much like what is being done on Destiny.  There is abundant starlight to fuel the antimatter production plants necessary to run helium converting fusion plants, and as the system is a major nexus for trade routes to systems below the galactic ecliptic, development is expected to begin soon.

Angelique is plagued with a thick unbreathable atmosphere, high gravity, and large size, which makes the energy costs associated with attaining orbit from the surface almost three times that of Earth.  This in turn limits the profitability of any goods shipped up the gravity well.  Thinning the atmosphere by sequestering carbon-dioxide into the seabed as part of the terraforming project will help ameliorate this difficulty.  Most of the planet's permanent population are Giant or Jovian Tweaks, as they are best adapted forlife on a high gravity, harsh world.  The bulk of the system's population live in Angelique Station in geosynchronous orbit.

Angelique Station is the primary habitat of the HM-50 2602 B System, and serves as a staging area for exploration of the planet and as a waystation for passing starships to take on propellant and exchange news and information.  It is one of the few Sagan type large wheel space stations in Sagittarius, reflecting both the deep pockets of the SDC and the usefulness of the system as a waypoint between Fury and Jin Xian.
